That night, the Lion Guard's animal recruits gather in a canyon to practice for the celebration. With his staff, he shows that the zebra herd hadn't been running toward the rocks, but away from them after they'd fallen. The Lion Guard then follows his lead down the slope to rescue the gazelles. They discover an egg in Ono's nest, which Ono identifies as a hamerkop egg. Fuli watches the mashindano between Makuu and Kiburi. The Lion Guard notices the theft, but only after Mama Binturong has taken the staff and retreated to her hideout. Diamond White Ono suggests that they build a shelter for the day and wait until nighttime to continue their journey. Beshte, however, notes that it had been Bunga who'd knocked Kion from the tree, so the cub might still be in danger.
