The December 2010 lunar eclipse, which was visible to nearly all of North and South America (depending on weather conditions), was the first time since 1638 that a total lunar eclipse coincided with the winter solstice. Viewers in North and South America, northern Scandinavia, as well as in other locations around the globe were able to witness at least portions of the eclipse.
However, because weather conditions and locations played a factor, many photographers sought out to document the lunar eclipse with photographs and video. So, in case you missed it (or want to relive it), here are some amazing lunar eclipse photographs as well as an eclipse time lapse video.
