The use of hand drawn elements in web design has grown tremendously over the past few years, as the focus on aesthetically pleasing user interfaces has grown. Aside from its use for communicating information to the user, hand drawn elements can help establish a visual theme, a brand identity, and tie together various aspects and elements of a website. Whether it uses more vector-based drawing, or is completely drawn with a tablet, hand drawn elements can bring some extra visual appeal to a website.
This showcase features 30 inspirational websites with hand drawn elements. Whether all the visuals are hand drawn, or just a few select aspects such as the header or tagline, these websites demonstrate how to effectively integrate hand drawn elements into a design, and will inspire you to try using them on your next project.

Some of these get to be a bit messy for my tastes, but overall I do like sites with hand drawn elements. In particular I really like Antonio Gioia’s website.
Eric i think all designs are looking amazing, can u tell me which looks messy to you.
awesome designs! can you suggest me how can i create these designs for my website..
all of the designs are amazing. I personally didn’t like a couple of designs but just me. I loved the concept of GreenOlivz and how they have used their mascot into their design. Loved it. Also loved the abstract artwork of Matt Mullenweg.
Good Job Eric, for collecting these creative designs for everyone.
Thanks for this collection, most of which I would probably have never seen. Some are interesting, others not for me, but different strokes for different folks, right? Thanks again!
Very, very, amazing list of illustrated sites…thanks for taking the time to post them. I just redesigned my drawing community site – http://www.drawinghowtodraw.com/ – and it is hand-drawn, then cut out from pieces of paper to make 3-d paper art – then photographed and made into a website. I hope that you like it.

I absolutely love hand-drawn web design. It shows the passion and artistic ability of the web designer or illustrator. Nice Collection!
