Fonts are an essential component of any designer’s repertoire. Fonts are what can tie together a design, a logo, a template and create a coherent branding image. Fonts can make or break a product advertisement, and they are often very difficult to choose. Fonts come in all shapes and sizes, and all sorts of styles, from futuristic to grunge to retro.
In this post, Peter Olexa has kindly rounded up and shared 25 excellent free retro fonts for designers to use. Whether you’re a web designer, advertising designer, or just a hobbyist, these fonts will definitely come in handy during future projects.
Hopefully you find these fonts useful, and let us know what you think in the comments. As always, sharing on your favorite social networking and subscribing are appreciated.
WOW, Nice font, I really need to have these fonts in my Gallery, Thanks a lot for providing us great gallery.
awesome set of resources! thank you for sharing this and doing the research for us all to discover. i will definitely be referencing this time to time.
i just want to add, another excellent resource / place for typography is http://www.pilo.me – it by far is the most complete and solid font forum i have visited. you can definitely find similar resources as you have mentioned here at pilo. anyhow, give it a look if you are a type lover. i think it is invite only or it usually is at least, so good luck getting in. if you do get in, be sure to participate as i know they remove deadbeat users time to time.
thanks again for the excellent links!
amazing fonts for print designs as my design sense.
Yes, I agree, the right choice of “fonts’ on your blog or website can make or break you to be sure !! A really cool “readable” font can make your pages “catch” everyone’s eye, and make them stand out from other sites with similar content or creativeness !!
But a font that people find “hard” to read, you know, too fancy too many swirls or letters becoming indistinguishable from running too close together or any number of other reasons(background and text colors too) making words hard to read…. can turn people off…. or run them off from your pages in a heartbeat !! You can end up running people off by these sorts of things long before they actually understand that your website or blog “really is a unique one of a kind type” of place to browse around in !!
A great post and imagination from the author, Peter Olexa, who is a fantastic freelance graphic designer born in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Thanks Peter, Brukhar and “CreativeFan” for showcasing his work and his imagination here for us to see !!
PS. Sorry but I found I need to correct my previous comment…. I mistakenly added a thank you for Peter’s “work” and imagination…. I realize that he “collected” these fonts for his post here…. “I apologize for my earlier mistake”…. But…. he is a freelance graphic designer born in Bratislava, Slovakia, who has over 15 years of experience in corporate identity and web site design !! I hope this correction and apology will help !!
Nice collection, thanks!
