The logo is one of the most important elements of identity and branding. Although logos are small, they are equally as difficult to create as web designs or business cards, because they need to be relatively simple, memorable, and professional.
Continuing our roundups from 2009, this post features 20 of the best logos from 2009. Certainly there are thousands of quality logos created in 2009, but these stand out as creative and clever.

It’s as if people are locked into a particular style right now, many of these logos look like they’ve been done by the same man/woman/computer. I’m not saying they’re not good, but they’re also somehow lifeless. I’ve seen a lot of art that people have been doing online and it’s all this flowers and vines stuff… for gods sake, when will people “get over it”? I’m hoping that someone somewhere comes up with something new and exciting, their own thing, not what everybody else is doing because if I don’t do that they’ll frown at me. Like Hawkeye in M*A*S*H once said as he banged his plates and stomped on the table “We want something else, we want something else…”
Wolfie!

I thought the same…
01.13.10
Exactly. It’s not just that they all look similar, but also that the only thing that makes them good is their way of illustrating the name of the company.
Juts because a company is called webankor or notestar doesn’t mean they have to use anchors, notes and stars in their logos. It doesn’t give the consumer a representation of what the company is about.
01.11.10
i liked all of them

Mister Cutts is the best I think.
Small and simple, but yet tells rewording stories, if you mind the small details.
Funny and smart and surely brings out the message.

Bridges ‘PUB and eatery’ has no ‘PUB’ in it
Mistercuts is great, for the 1920’s
Gulp = tongue out? Gulp with your tongue out… I dare you
This is the usual pseudo creativity that passes for ‘art’ it’s “so creative” that idiots like it.
Do me a favor and fucking ‘try’ next time, please.
01.16.10
@ DB – Ok. Well then, let’s see some examples of your art and what passes for creativity in your little world. Please, by all means, educate the rest of us poor little philistines. Perhaps that would be a more constructive use of your time than tearing down the work of others.
Personally, I wish I had half the creative mind that these designers had to come up with these examples. I find them clever and attention grabbing. Well done!
Gee, I guess that makes me an idiot by your definition. Oh well. I think I can live with that.

Hi WEB Family,
The Logos are lovely, this is to make most of Designers to wake up because We design difficult & complicated LOGO to satisfy people while not necessary.
