There’s just something about long exposure photography that makes it dazzling. Maybe it’s the ability to see things from a different perspective. Or maybe it’s the ability to experience time in a different fashion. Whatever the reason, long exposure photography is an incredibly popular and difficult form of photography. Not only does it require a perfect subject, but it also requires mastery of light and dark, and the ability to see beyond the face of an image, and to see what it can become.
This post showcases 52 of the most stunning and unbelievable long exposure photographs from the most talented photographers in the world. Whether you’re a photographer, or just an admirer, these images will leave you breathless.
And to add to these inspirational photographs here are some more of our photography showcases that may not be as good as this post but then they are creative enough to be admired :

Thanks Juan!
Me parecen extraordinarias!
AWESOME !! Thanks for the great post… “Congratulations” on launching your new blog !!
Nice of you to steal teh work of other’s, and pass it off as yours. This site is being passed around to otehr photographers to view. We’ve already found a few stolen images. Get ready…
First of all, none of these images are stolen, and in no way are they being passed off as my own. If you bothered to mouse over the images, you’d notice a direct link to the artist’s image page on Flickr. In fact, the only reason the images are previewed here is so that potential viewers can see before they click. Hosting the fullview of these images and not giving any reference in either text or link format would be an issue, but that is not the case here.
“Blog this” works with one image, likewise large images are kept on their own pages within our Flickr communities. When you get 52 on one page like this it’s a considerable amount of resources. If 100 other blogs do the same all of Flickr begins to suffer slower load times. It’s common courtesy to host them, please.
If adding text below each image with the text (by ) would ease your fears in this matter, I’ll be happy to add them. But seeing as nearly all users would prefer to click an image rather than scour a page for text, there isn’t much to be gained for anyone.
And of course, if any artists object to having their material featured for thousands of potential viewers for no charge, they can get into contact and the image will be removed within one business day.
That was one, great, succinct response! Well done! I personally want to thank you for one really incredible stream of LE pix! Truly some of the best I’ve seen. Thank you so much for the share!
Amazing photographs.
love the one of epcot.
very glad u put this together.
some look amazing but others….im sorry but im gonna have to call photoshop on them. i am more of a traditionalist and if you have to photoshop your pictures to make them good, your not a photographer, your a graphic designer. and yes i understand photography and i understand about exposure times
Terrific! I am running Windows 7 and I devote a folder of HQ wallpapers to randomly appear on my log-in screen. I’m going to add these. Thanks!
Can’t You place them on ZIP file so that I can directly download them?
Mahmoud,
Unfortunately that would likely constitute a copyright violation since copyright remains with the photographer and thus only they may redistribute.
Motivational pics, wonderfull.
Love the water long exposed, it is so softlooking like a blanket…
very nice shoots
i like most of them
thanx
Awesome photos, Ive recently been experimenting with longer exposures so these are quite inspiring to me haha. great work!
Awesome. :D
good pictures
I have a digicam and I don’t know how to do that.. I want to do that! :)
Put you camera on a tripod and use a long exposure. If you camera has manual mode set it F11 or F16 and use shutter speed of about 5-15 seconds at dusk. To prevent blurring use the self timer or a remote if available.
Hi Eric,
You have done a great job here. You have a wonderful taste and an eye which proves your great selection of photographs from great photographers through flickr. You are actually promoting these flickr members through your great site and it is certainly not an illegal attempt nor a copyright violation as stated by Kiron Kid. If it would violate the copyright law then flickr would not add “Blog This” function on their site. Flickr also brilliantly ad a credit line below the photograph as it can be seen in my recent blog post at http://www.armaanrezaphotography.org/ which is actually my own work though but I have no problem to share other photographer’s work if I think it matches the theme of my site.
amazing photos !
all of them are awesome except the lighthouse picture towards the bottom. :p
Good photo, i liked.
A lot of these are not merely long exposures but HDR photographs. You should definitely revise the way you introduce them…
Many fabulous and dynamic images.
I know someone already accused you of stealing this stuff… that was stupid, but at least one of these images is stolen. However, this is not your fault. You can find the original here… http://rubberman542.deviantart.com/art/Pacman-II-85815606
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your selection of photos.
Thanks for letting me know Adam, I updated the link to properly credit the photographer! :)
Cool stuff. Not all are long exposure. Many are, but some are multiple exposure and/or HDR type stuff.

This is an absolutely phenomenal collections, especially the lighthouse with the beams surrounding it. I was stunned. Very nice job to you and the photographers.
WoW… I’ve been trying to capture 1 of this…. but fail….
Really great photos. Slow shutter speed photography is why I got my first digital camera years ago, and is still one of my favorite types of photography.
Once again, seeing your photos has been a lifes experience, and i’m 77.
